PD01 - Respiratory allergens in human milk: potential impact on susceptibility to allergic airway disease

چکیده
Results Der p 1 was present in 58% Brazilian, 70% French, and 78% Australian colostrum. Median [Der p 1] was similar between countries (96 pg/mL). In mature milk, Der p1 was found in 55% of samples, median [Der p 1] was 65·9 pg/mL and was significantly lower than in colostrum (p=0·0001). Der p 1-containing milks were able to induce basophils degranulation. Mice breastfed by Der p-exposed mothers had 5-fold increased levels of Der p specific IgE and IgG1 compared to mice breastfed by naïve mothers. Their allergic airway inflammation was not affected.

Role of breast milk in a mouse model of maternal transmission of asthma susceptibility.
Epidemiologic data suggest a link between nursing by asthmatic mothers and increased risk of allergy in babies. We sought to experimentally test the potential contribution of breast milk mediator(s) in a mouse model of maternal transmission of asthma risk by evaluating the effect of adoptive nursing on asthma susceptibility in the offspring. We measured airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR) and alle...
متن کاملIngestion of milk containing the Dp2 peptide, a dust mite allergen, protects mice from allergic airway inflammation and hyper-responsiveness
BACKGROUND Allergen-specific immunotherapy has been demonstrated to have potential for the treatment of allergic diseases. Transgenic animals are currently the best available bioreactors to produce recombinant proteins, which can be secreted in milk. It has not been clearly demonstrated whether milk from transgenic animals expressing recombinant allergens has immunomodulatory effects on allergi...
متن کاملمروری بر ارتباط آلرژن های قارچی با آلرژی و بیماری های تنفسی
For years, fungi have been associated with asthma and other reactive airway diseases. In contrast to type I-mediated allergies caused by pollen, fungi cause many allergic diseases such as rhinitis, allergic bronchopulmonary mycoses, hypersensitivity pneumonitis and allergic sinusitis. Aspergillus fumigatus is the most prevalent fungi which causes severe pulmonary allergic diseases, including al...
متن کاملOne Airway: the Link between Allergic Rhinitis and Asthma*
The concept of “one airway, one disease” was highlighted in the Allergic Rhinitis and Its Impact on Asthma guidelines and has arisen as a result of the now well-established link between the upper and lower airways. Whether the relationship represents a causal association or whether it is more simply the result of a common mucosal susceptibility remains to be determined. Similarly, from a clinic...
متن کاملOverview of Relationship of Allergic Asthma with Diet and Food Intake
Allergic asthma is the most common acute inflammatory airway disorder and their incidence population has exploded in the last years, being estimated that over 300 million people worldwide have the condition. Here, we present a brief overview of relationship of allergic asthma with diet and food intake. Several studies have shown that most asthma cases are due to an allergic immune response to e...
